The PCC-II cars on Route 15 today seem so much slower off the line than the cars were years ago; the film is not sped up - why are they slower?

I miss those old AM General, Flixible and GM new look fishbowl buses and the Diesel smell they gave off!

I recall the church building at the site of Ravens Stadium. You could see it from the I-95 ramp to MLK Blvd.

Question: If the tracks are electrified overhead like they often are in Europe, could trolleys run on railroad tracks? Or do they require a different gauge track?

My apologies! ... The Bay Belle what is a steamer but I believe that it was a bit more modern than the original boat that went to Tolchester. The Bay Belle always stopped at Tolchester Beach first, and then went on to Betterton Beach where it would remain docked for at least 3 to 4 hours before making her return trip every Saturday and Sunday each Summer...

Thanks... That must have been before the "Bay Bell"... She wasn't a steamer. When I was a kid we took the Bay Bell over 100 week-ends, leaving the inner-harbor on Saturday going to Betterton Beach after a brief stop at Tolchester. We would spend the night and return on Sunday almost every weekend during many summers while school was out. Great Memories!!

These PCCs will be the heritage fleet of the #15 Route always. I know they're in the process of being overhauled.

The 6V-71 may have been ubiquitous in Canada and in parts of Michigan, but it doesn't have the sheer HP of either the 8V-71 or the 6V-92TA.

Lived in Mt Lebanon from 1971-1975, as a young kid (born '62), and loved seeing the PAT trolleys. Used to be able to take them from "up-tahn" Lebo to "dahn-tahn" Pittsburgh to watch the Pirates with other young friends. I doubt many 10-12 year olds do those kinds of things anymore.
